What is PokéSurvivor?
PokéSurvivor (often searched as Pokémon Survivor) is a free, unofficial Pokémon fan game you play in a web browser: a survivors-like in the style of Survivor.io and Vampire Survivors where you pick a partner, roam an endless map and your moves fire on their own while hordes of wild Pokémon close in. It is made by a developer who goes by JPTER78, launched on October 11, 2026, and pokesurvivor.com is its only official site.
How PokéSurvivor works
A Mystery Dungeon-style personality test suggests a partner, or you pick one of 29 starters (the 27 regional starters plus Psyduck and Slowpoke). During a run you only move: your partner fires its active move at the nearest enemy, and you can hold up to four moves and switch between them. Experience levels you up, and each level offers three cards: a new move, an upgrade to one you have, or a stat boost. A move at max level plus the right upgrade evolves, so Ember becomes Fire Blast. Type matchups and weather (sun, rain, sand, snow, fog) change the damage. Rifts open at least every two and a half minutes and lead to one of 18 type arenas with a legendary; winning gives tickets and a Bond that fuses moves into one slot. At minute 30 the Judgment of Arceus begins: Arceus cannot be beaten, stronger legendaries keep arriving, and around minute 40 its touch knocks you out in one hit. Between runs, coins buy permanent upgrades for each Pokémon, and tickets earned in play pull new Pokémon from a gacha for each region.
Who it's for, and who should skip it
Good for
- Players who want a free survivors-like with a huge roster: 966 Pokémon from all nine regions, each with its own moves and upgrades
- Anyone who wants no ads and nothing to buy; donations are optional and give no advantage
- Friends who want to play together: online co-op supports up to four players with shared experience
- Phone players: it runs in mobile browsers and can be installed with Add to Home Screen
Skip it if
- Anyone who wants an official Pokémon game. This is an unlicensed fan project, and Pokémon fan games have been taken down before
- Players who want 3D movement: you only move and dodge while attacks fire on their own. PokéBonk adds jumping, sliding and gliding
- Guests who want their progress on several devices. Guest progress stays in one browser; cloud saves need an account
- Phone players who only hold the phone upright: the mobile version plays in landscape only

- Take the personality test to get a partner, or pick one of the 29 starters yourself.
- Keep moving in wide circles so the horde follows you in a line, and switch to the move that is super effective against what is in front of you, as the developer's own guide advises.
- Pick one of three cards at every level-up, step into rifts to fight legendaries for tickets and Bonds, and see how long you last once the Judgment of Arceus starts at minute 30.
PokéSurvivor vs similar games
Pokémon Survivor Burst is a different fan game with a similar name: a download for Windows, macOS and Android by Clessio, made with RPG Maker, in which you unlock Pokémon by completing challenges. Burst is the one to pick if you want a game you install and play offline; PokéSurvivor needs no download and has a much bigger roster (966 Pokémon against the 88-plus Burst lists).
PokéBonk is the other trending Pokémon survivors fan game. It is 3D, with jumping, sliding and gliding, and uses only Kanto Pokémon. PokéSurvivor has you only move and dodge, but offers Pokémon from every region, rifts with legendaries, an Arceus endgame and co-op, which PokéBonk has not shipped yet.
Vampire Survivors and Survivor.io are the games the developer names as its models. Vampire Survivors (poncle, 1.0 in 2022) is the deeper, more polished original, and Survivor.io is a free mobile game by Habby with in-app purchases. PokéSurvivor is free with nothing to buy, and adds Pokémon types, weather and evolving moves.

PokéSurvivor FAQ
- Is PokéSurvivor the same game as Pokémon Survivor?
- Usually, yes: the Pokémon Survivor game that took off in October 2026 is PokéSurvivor, the free browser game at pokesurvivor.com. But Pokémon Survivor Burst is a different fan game by Clessio that you download for Windows, macOS or Android. If it runs in your browser and has 966 Pokémon, it is PokéSurvivor.
- What is the official PokéSurvivor website?
- pokesurvivor.com is the only official site, according to the developer. Domains with similar names are run by other people: pokesurvivor.org, for example, describes itself as an independent guide site. Some copies show the game inside their own page with ads, and at least one sells tickets for real money, which the official game never does.
- Is PokéSurvivor free?
- Yes. There are no ads or purchases, and gacha tickets can't be bought with real money. You can donate through Ko-fi or GitHub Sponsors to help pay for the servers, but donations give no in-game advantage. If a site asks you to pay for tickets, it is not the official game.
- Can I play PokéSurvivor on my phone?
- Yes, in a mobile browser held sideways. Drag anywhere to move, tap a move to switch to it and use the top-right button to pause, and you can install it with Add to Home Screen. There is no official app in Google Play or the App Store, so any APK you find is unofficial.
- Do I need an account to play PokéSurvivor?
- No. You can play as a guest, but guest progress stays in that one browser. Sign in with a name and password or with Google to keep your save in the cloud, play co-op and appear on leaderboards. Signing in on a copy of the game at another domain creates a separate account there, which is a common reason players think their progress is gone.
- Can I play PokéSurvivor with friends?
- Yes. Online co-op supports up to four players: add friends by nickname, invite them to your room and start. Experience is shared, and you revive a fallen teammate by standing next to them. Co-op is peer-to-peer, so players in the same room can see each other's IP addresses, as the game's privacy notice explains.
- How many Pokémon are in PokéSurvivor?
- 966, from all nine regions (Kanto to Paldea), and every one is playable as your partner. You start with one of 29 starters and unlock the rest through each region's gacha with tickets earned by playing; bosses and rift legendaries can drop ×10 tickets.
- Can I play PokéSurvivor offline?
- Yes, with the download on the developer's itch.io page: unzip it and open index.html. The offline version is solo only and saves in your browser; co-op, cloud saves and leaderboards need the online version at pokesurvivor.com.
